Nico has always been driven and fascinated by people, and how technology can be used to drive better people outcomes, which led him to leadership roles for some of the best technology businesses of the last decade (Unity, Revolut and Peakon to name a few) as well as launching his own successful people product business.
Nico highlights one of today’s biggest challenges for leaders: ‘A lot of coaching and people management approaches are being served in a one size fits all approach for managers. Using archaic templates and processes that are not fit for the workplace of today.’ We need to be moving to a much more science led approach so we can tailor our communication and approaches correctly so they have the biggest impact. Nico is quick to clarify, ‘A lot of managers think this means delivering a different message…NO….This is tailoring the delivery of the message so the user receives it in the way which is going to have the biggest impact for them as an individual, but the same message being delivered in a personalised approach.’ The coaching element of the Humani app he see’s as a game changer for all managers in being able to create that effective 1-2-1 relationship with their team.
A core focus for Nico is balancing technology and science with human connection. “The use of technology and science should be used to drive better human connection, and that is why I am so excited by Humani and the vision to enhance human collaboration in the workplace”. The evolving workplace post COVID means that human interactions have changed considerably, and in some instances you may not spend that much ‘informal’ time together and getting to know one another. This could be due to working in different locations or remote. By having that in-depth understanding of one another's behavioural traits and how to collaborate and work effectively together at the touch of a button is game changing.
Humani is excited by the impact that Nico will be able to have on helping shape the future of human collaboration. Having worked for hugely successful technology companies in a people capacity, as well as successfully building and selling his own People Product (Platypus), his most recent experience in the VC space (Dreamcraft) gives a truly unique perspective he can bring to Humani. Anders, CEO and Co-Founder states, ‘Nico is a true People entrepreneur, we are thrilled that we have been able to bring him into the advisory board, his unique blend of people experience across so many different areas will help Humani immensely achieve our mission.’
